Recently, pickleball was named the fastest growing sport in the country. It is being offered at fitness venues, schools and country clubs nationwide. It is a game that has been marketed to all ages including children, teens and seniors, who might find it more physically suitable than tennis. There is now a pickleball league for professional players and there is also a national pickleball league, USA Pickleball. Clearly, the sport is here to stay.
It is unclear what the trends will be, but some other sports, such as tennis and badminton, have been concerned that the establishment of Pickleball would hurt their respective sports.
