Hello everyone, my name is Bailey Tillotson! I am the School Cafeteria Director here at LSUA Elementary. Today I wanted to come in and talk to you all about the way our cafeteria works, and the importance of food and nutrition services. First and foremost, your child’s nutrition is of the utmost importance to our school and our cafeteria staff. We understand that the choices we provide for school lunches can help keep your kids fueled and full throughout the day. We always want to provide delicious but nutritious foods that can allow kids to understand more about nutrition and why it is important to them. In fact, the CDC states “…that schools implement policies and practices to create a nutrition environment that supports students in making healthy choices.” Our whole model at LSUA Elementary for your kids is to provide information and feedback within the cafeteria and in nutrition so that they can continue to make healthy choices as they grow up. As the Cafeteria Director, I hope that you as parents can continue to support the nutrition services we provide at the school, as we just want the best for your children.
