so we are trying to decrease CAUTI among medical inpatient in ….Hospital through decreasing
* Unnecessary Catheter use
* mean per-person catheter days
This is based on the premise that people are
* Forgetful
* Fearful
This is done by
1. This will be provided as checklist indications for inserting foleys, for example:
* Neurologic (spinal/pelvic) trauma
* Obstruction/Retention
* Tenuous (critically ill CHF or AKI)
* Urological surgery
* Bed sores + incontinence

The check list the CAUTI insertion bundle *basically patients that actually require a foley and what would justify a patient to be on
foley
2.corresponding reminder about internationally agreed upon criteria for need of foleys (if the patient fits the criteria in the previous CAUTI bundle, there is a checklist to ensure that aseptic measure taken to prevent unnecessary contamination infection.)
3. CAUTI maintenance bundle is a check list for daily follow up checking if the patient should still be on foleys or not.
all three check list will be attached as a document.
So what we did is basically just monitor and data was collected for 1 month without any check list or intervention to compare, took all the numbers and then implemented the check list above to reduce the number of unnecessary foleys. we were able to reduce it by 20%. an excel sheet will be attached with all the numbers.
