Overview:As you work through the modules, you will be looking at how you meet the criteria of the Professional Standards and Competencies for Early Childhood Educators. In each module, you will be completing a piece of a checklist based on the Standards, which will require you to use your critical thinking skills and reflect on your work up to this point. Where have you been, and where are you now?Instructions:For the first portfolio item, complete the first part of the Professional Teaching Standards Self-Assessment Checklist in the course lesson content. Complete the interactive checklist and then print/save it to use with your self-reflection and add to your portfolio.
Write a draft reflection addressing why self-reflection and assessment are important in your professional journey.
Refer to your Professional Teaching Standards Self-Assessment Checklist results to support your reflection.
Submission Requirements:Submit a Microsoft Word document with a 1–2-page reflection and completed checklist.
This version of your reflection is a draft and is not due at this time. Your instructor will provide revisions and feedback on this assignment in Module 04. You will submit a draft of your work (Course Project Assignments Module 01, 02, 03, and 04) in the dropbox in Module 04. The final version will be submitted as part of the mini professional portfolio in Module 06.
