• Each student should pick a publicly listed company which has top executives
featured in In Good Company with Nicolai Tangen (available for free on
Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube, etc.). If you’re uncertain about a
company’s public-listing status, ask Google!
• The paper should be no longer than 10 pages in length, single space, 1-inch
margins all around (including cover page, references).
• The paper should be uploaded to D2L, where Turnitin checks similarity rates
(a similarity of 25+% will be suspect of plagiarism). Due date: June 20 th
• Please follow the guidelines below to structure your paper.
1. Company overview (Introduce the company, and evaluate the company’s
performance over the past five years.)
2. Identify the company’s business-level, corporate-level, and international-
level strategies with examples. [Underline the key words (textbook
terminologies) for the three levels of strategies.]
3. Identify the competitive advantages of the company, and evaluate whether
these advantages are sustainable or not using the RBV framework.
4. Conduct an up-to-date analysis of the company in the current environment
using the Porter’s Five Forces framework.
5. Reflect on the Podcast episode in which the top executive is interviewed.
Summarize key insights that are consistent (or inconsistent) with your above
analysis. [DO NOT transcribe the podcast.]
6. Based on your research, offer recommendations on how the company can
improve its performance.
