Case Analysis – From Passion to Profit: A Case Study on Entrepreneurship
In writing your GROUP Case Analysis papers, you will be guided by the requirements identified in Appendix 1 of my Educational Philosophies (see below).
Introduction to Sarah Mitchell: Entrepreneurship is a journey marked by innovation, risk-taking, and determination. This case study explores the story of Sarah Mitchell, a young entrepreneur who turned her passion for sustainable fashion into a successful business venture.
Sarah’s Background: Sarah Mitchell, a recent graduate with a degree in environmental science, had always been passionate about sustainable living. During her college years, she became increasingly concerned about the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Motivated by her desire to make a difference, Sarah decided to channel her passion into a business that would promote eco-friendly and ethical fashion.
Sarah’s Idea: Sarah’s idea was to create a sustainable fashion brand that offered stylish and affordable clothing while minimizing its environmental footprint. She envisioned a brand that prioritized ethical sourcing, eco-friendly materials, and transparent supply chains. To fund her venture, Sarah decided to bootstrap initially and seek funding later as the business gained traction.
Challenges and Risks: Starting a business is never without challenges. Sarah faced numerous obstacles. Identify the many challenges Sarah will face. Identify the risks involved in the highly competitive fashion industry were also considerable.
Execution: How should Sarah execute her entrepreneurial plan?
Growth and Expansion: How should Sarah approach growth and expansion on the premise that her business thrives?
Use the following Outline when developing your Case Study Analysis:
IntroductionIdentify the key problems and issues in the case study.
Formulate and include a thesis statement, summarizing the outcome of your analysis in 1–2 sentences.
BackgroundSet the scene: background information, relevant facts, and the most important issues.
Demonstrate that you have researched the problems in this case study.
Evaluation of the Case
Outline the various pieces of the case study that you are focusing on.
Evaluate these pieces by discussing what is working and what is not working.
State why these parts of the case study are or are not working well.
Proposed Solution/ChangesProvide specific and realistic solution(s) or changes needed.
Explain why this solution was chosen.
Support this solution with solid evidence, such as:Concepts from class (text readings, discussions, lectures)
Outside research
Personal experience (anecdotes)
RecommendationsDetermine and discuss specific strategies for accomplishing the proposed solution.
If applicable, recommend further action to resolve some of the issues.
What should be done and who should do it?

Option A
Project Revive LLC is a consulting firm of highly charged and accomplished project managers whose main stream of revenue comes from managing the turnaround of failing projects. As a consultant with Project Revive LLC, you will study, analyze, and manage a failed project from NearlyFree.com. NearlyFree.com is a fictitious company and the project documents for NearlyFree.com project scenario are located in course resources for this assignment. The NearlyFree.com project was originally scoped to develop and deploy an automated Web-based training system for new employees to reduce the workload and cut down personnel resources required to complete the new employee orientation (NEO) training.
As a veteran member of the Project Revive team, you already know the value of continually examining performance throughout a project to further define and update project data. Special attention to documenting and identifying problems is required in time to make appropriate adjustments. The earned value management (EVM) technique is often used in this type of analysis. Continue your analysis of the failed project by applying the EVM technique to examine performance based on what was accomplished.
Your Role
For Option A, you are the project manager.
Requirements
Microsoft Project is the required software tool for this course due to its wide industry acceptance and its use in many project management professional roles. To make this easier, you have the ability to download and install your own version of MS Project from the Capella Microsoft Imagine WebStore using the instructions provided in the MS Imagine section of the course overview. See the Software Preparation and Technology Access activity for more information.
Practice using MS Project in this course helps prepare you for future professional PM roles and responsibilities; please use MS Project for those tasks supported by MS Project. If you have access to other tools such as MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word that you believe may still meet the requirements of this course, please discuss your selected alternative with your instructor.
Use the PMBOK® Guide as the model for developing the deliverables.
Earned Value Analysis
Deliverable: Develop an Earned Value Analysis report of the current failed project.
Complete the following:
Use Microsoft Project to show earned value in a list of tasks that measure of the cost of the work performed up to a certain date (the current date) based on the Project Schedule [MPP] Download Project Schedule [MPP].
Consider how you can apply this analysis of the failed project to a successful project turnaround.
Address the following topics. Where necessary, define assumptions you made.
Apply an earned value technique.
Explain the value of the information provided through the EVM technique.
Analyze project success based on earned value calculations.
Explain project decisions based on earned value calculations.
Explain how you will apply earned value calculations to a successful project turnaround.
Use the MS Project functionality to:
Display project summary information and report.
Create Project reports.
Export project plan cost data into Excel.
Preparation
Use the software of your choice to develop the deliverables for this assessment.
This assignment has one deliverable:
Develop a comprehensive Earned Value Analysis report.
Deliverable Format
References: There is no set number of references required for this assignment. Use scholarly or academic sources where applicable.
Format:Use the Microsoft Project to obtain project costs information.
Use your choice of MS Word, MS Visio, or MS PowerPoint to develop the comprehensive analyses.
These analyses are professional documents and should therefore follow the corresponding Academic and Professional Document Guidelines PDF, including single-spaced paragraphs.
Use APA style and format for references and in-text citations.

Cypress Grove Chevre (https://www.cypressgrovecheese.com/) has been producing award-winning goat cheese for over twenty years. The company, located in California, offers more than a dozen varieties of primarily French-style goat-milk cheeses. An important managerial duty is to balance the workloads of the employees on the various jobs required to process the cheese. In order to do this, management needs to analyze the raw labor data to determine the time required for each task so that work is evenly distributed throughout the process and the total time needed to process an order can be predicted. The client has already collected the raw data and now needs you to prepare the data for analysis. The client is interested in the average quantity produced per hour for each task and the range of time per task.
1. By clicking on the question, you will receive one data set with five (5) unique sets of information to analyze. Each data set has five task codes (a02. etc). View the table in the data set and the tasks. Each assigned task code should be analyzed. 2. For each task code do the following:
Develop a set of descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, etc.).
Generate one or more charts for each task such as a histogram, scatterplot, or Pareto chart for the data. You are expected to demonstrate competency using all three types of charts in some fashion. See the Labor Data Example.xlsx (attached) .
Write a brief summary for each task with analysis and interpretation.
Provide conclusions or recommendations for each task based upon the data.
3. Use this template (attached) to write your analysis and include the following:
Title page
Brief introduction of the case
Descriptive statistics (such as mean, median, range, standard deviation, and variance) for each task
One or more of the seven quality control tools as needed (e.g., histograms, Pareto charts, etc.) with analysis and interpretation for each task
Conclusions and recommendations for each task
4. Complete the analysis as described. Submit your document.

First, read the document entitled Signing and Sealing Sub-Contractor’s Calculations PDF (BER Case #11-1). Then visit the website for the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and review its Code of Ethics.
https://www.nspe.org/
https://www.nspe.org/resources/ethics/code-ethics
Once you have reviewed the document and the websites, consider whether the behavior of the construction-management design professional was ethical. Also, consider the many situations that a construction manager or design professional may encounter in which materials and ethics intersect. Think about what you have learned in this course regarding the importance of quality, specifications, materials, and methods, as well as how often design professionals are asked for their expertise for clarifications, design changes, and other construction document information.
In your initial post, address the following:
• Did the design professional behave ethically?
• If the design professional behaved unethically, did he do so knowingly?
• Do you have a personal ethical line in business that you will not cross under any circumstances? Describe.
Refer to your own professional experience and cite from the case document and the webpages of the NSPE to support your answers. (use 2 – 3 sources)
Part 2: Respond to the peer below(1-3 paragraphs; additional sources not needed) consider their opinions and then add your own thoughts to their conclusions. If possible, try to compare a situation that you encountered in the business world to one that a peer wrote about in his or her post.
Pier #1: Nathan
• Did the design professional behave ethically?
• Had Engineer A ultimately reviewed and stamped (approved) the skylight curb, at the very least, they would be in violation of Section II.2.b. – NSPE Code of Ethics which would have been unethical. Since engineer A was not in direct supervisory role for the skylight curb design and they did not have specific knowledge with respect to the skylight curb, this would be unethical. Stamping of the docs for which they are not qualified to review or design and/or that they did not create or directly supervise the creation of, is not only unethical but could be dangerous to any occupants of the building or construction crew.
• If the design professional behaved unethically, did he do so knowingly?
• Engineer A, having assumedly been registered as such, should know that this behavior is unethical, so it would be construed as ‘knowingly’ acting in an unethical manner. Ignorance does not absolve of wrong (that’s not to say circumstances could not be evaluated for consideration, however).
• Do you have a personal ethical line in business that you will not cross under any circumstances? Describe.
• To identify an ethical line that one would not cross under any circumstance would indicate that there are some unethical lines that they would cross. Personally, I will not behave in a manner that would require me to compromise my integrity; in no instance would I ever put myself into a position where I may be accused of acting unethically or to be questioned by any governing board (contractors board for example) or in a civil or criminal action. Once you give up your integrity, you have nothing left that anyone you may have future business with will want, at any price. Your integrity is your greatest strength; it must be protected, especially when you’re wrong.

Utilize the “Global Research Project” PDF to conduct research on your country. You have two options in submitting this assignment (pick one):
1. Simply indicate your responses to the research questions in the “typeform” space provided in the pdf-file. *Remember to click “the save button” frequently to ensure all your responses are recorded and saved. Then upload the PDF (with the saved research).
2. If you are not able to use the PDF “typeform” you may create a “Word Document” that addresses the exact research questions. You must write each question and then provide the response(s) below the question. Be creative if you use this option. You have the autonomy to add pictures and graphs and utilize innovative formating and structure. Then convert the word document to a PDF document and upload via submission portal (with the saved research). Microsoft word should have an easy method built-in to convert files.

Please answer all case questions. Use APA (American Psychological Association) style for in-text citations and references for all course assignments. Outside research from a minimum of two credible sources in addition to the course text are required for each discussion.
1. What is China’s interest in investing heavily in infrastructure projects in countries such as Kenya? what is China trying to achieve with its Belt and Road Initiative? Should American policy makers be concerned about China’s actions and intentions here?
2. In purely economic terms, who would benefit from a free trade deal between the United States and Kenya? Who might lose? Would you expect the net effect to be positive or negative?
3. Would a free trade deal have geopolitical implications for the United States? What about for Kenya?
4. In 2021, the Biden Administration replaced the Trump Administration in the United States. This raised concerns in Kenya that the U.S. might not push ahead and finish negotiating the deal. Should the Biden Administration continue to pursue a free trade deal with Kenya? What about the Kenyan government, should they continue to push for a deal?
