Hello, please follow the steps below to complete this assignment. This assignment should be completed in your own words and reference any resources at the end of the page. For this assignment, look at each of the four causes of childhood obesity on the previous page (Genetics, Socioeconomic Status, Physical Activity, and Environment) and come up with one thing that can combat each of these causes. Include references for each of the examples that you use for things that can combat the causes.
There are many factors that influence obesity. Read the articles on each of the four factors that we will be discussing in this module.
Genetics
Genetics and Obesity Links to an external site.is an in depth peer-reviewed journal article that refences the Human Genome ProjectLinks to an external site. (1990-2003 – project mapped the human genome) and looks at genes that have the highest risk of the obesity phenotype. Phenotype is a set of visible characteristics of a person that results from the interaction of its genotype and environment. Genotype is the genetic makeup of a person. Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) have been ongoing since 2007 to help link gene variations and diseases. Socioeconomic Status
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) examined data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination survey (2005-2008). Read the articleLinks to an external site. for more details on their key findings*:
Low income children and adolescents are more likely to be obese than their higher income counterparts, but the relationship is not consistent across race and ethnicity groups.
Most obese children and adolescents are not low income (below 130% of the poverty level).
Children and adolescents living in households where the head of household has a college degree are less likely to be obese compared with those living in households where the household head has less education, but the relationship is not consistent across race and ethnicity groups.
Between 1988-1994 and 2007-2008 the prevalence of childhood obesity increased at all income and education levels.
*information from National Center for Health StatisticsLinks to an external site.
This article summarizes findings of research done in Europe from 2011-2021. Do you see any differences? similarities?
Mediators of socioeconomic differences in overweight and obesity among young Ireland and the UK (2011-2021): a systematic reviewLinks to an external site.
Environment
Environmental factors play a significant role in the the development of children. The school is a significant environment for children as they spend a lot of their developing time there. The food that is consumed at school, whether from school lunches, food packed from home, or food traded at school influences taste preferences and dietary choices as an adult. In our next module, we will be discussing nutrition, USDA School Meal Guidelines and the importance of these guidelines in promoting healthier choices.
Behavior
The effects of any different aspects of behavior affect childhood obesity. In the fourth module, we will be focusing on examining the effects of physical activity (and lack of physical activity) on childhood obesity. Some of the causes of decreased physical activity include increased screen time and increased sedentary behavior. We will also be examining the “Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans” form the U.S Department of Health and Human Services.
if you have any questions please feel free to ask me. Thank you so much!

Choose ONE of the above topics, and respond with your cited and non-Wikipedia research. ***In order to receive full points for your post:
1) You MUST include your citation (like a URL) to your source; and 2) ALSO a piece of DIRECT QUOTE to report research, with introductory/transitional phrasing in your own language. When you take even 3-4 words directly from a research source, you MUST place those between quotation marks. For instance, you might write something like: According to History.com, Henry VIII’s first wife Catherine of Aragon was “demoted for bearing no son.” Do you see how words you took directly from another source are placed within quotation marks? You MUST to do this, or you risk a plagiarism charge. Since you are being asked to conduct research, it’s perfectly fine that you are reading other sources, but you need to get in the habit of reporting and crediting your sources correctly.
Please note: Any time you use another source, you must use quotation marks around words taken from them and credit your source each and every time you use their ideas or words. Do NOT borrow a large chunk from someone else and then just drop a citation at the end of your post. That will not receive any credit.

IEP PROJECT: IEP GOALS ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
A central component of an IEP is the measurable annual goals which describe the student’s
target achievements or the intended outcomes of instruction. IEP goals are developed and based
on the student’s current levels of academic and functional performance and are aligned with the
state’s learning standards. For this assignment, you will apply your goal writing skills in a
student case study.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. After reviewing the course’s textbook reading assignments and presentations on writing
IEP goals and objectives, read the Present Level of Academic Achievement and
Functional Performance (PLAAFP) for Elli Smith document provided with this
assignment.
2. Using the provided IEP Project: IEP Goals Template, write three standards-based goals
specific to reading and decoding.
a. The goals you write must align with Virginia Standards of Learning. Refer to the
English Standards of Learning for Virginia Public Schools (SOLs 2.5–2.10); a
link to these standards has been provided with this assignment.
b. Assume the goals you are writing are for the Annual Review occurring at the
beginning of Elli’s second-grade year.
c. When writing goals, be sure the following elements exist in the goal statement:
i. The student’s name
ii. Specification that the goal is annual
iii. The grade level of the words, reading passage, assessment, etc.
iv. The percentage of accuracy to be obtained
v. The number of trials allowed for the goal to be met
d. For each goal statement, provide the related Virginia Standard(s) of Learning
(SOL).
e. For each goal statement, indicate on the provided checklist how the student’s
progress towards the goal will be measured.
Your goals should be written professionally with correct spelling and grammar.

Jazz As “America’s Music” Many historians and scholars call jazz “America’s Native Art Form,” or “America’s Music,” or some other version of this title. Basically, since jazz was ♫“Born in the USA”♫, and it is pretty unique—when compared to other musical styles from other places (like Europe or Asia)—these folks claim jazz as our music, as our unique art. I think there is a lot of validity to this claim; jazz is rather uniquely American and it represents a lot of the things that we are (and were) pretty well.
But, of course, it’s not a perfect claim. There are probably reasons we could point to as to why calling jazz “America’s Music” is less-than perfect. Among other things, jazz is still kind of elitist and only really represents a small percentage of the “American Experience.” My cowboy grandpa probably couldn’t be further removed from jazz (at least in his own telling of “the story”). Anytime we try to identify one person or one artistic movement as the thing that represents a huge community, we are going to find things to complain about.
Still, I think the idea of having that one thing to represent something complex is an interesting one. So, what about you? What could you use to represent yourself? What songs, pieces, or artists do you think might some closest to explaining “you?” Please list two pieces of music that you would pick to represent yourself. Think about a photo slideshow of your life; what two songs would be best to accompany it? Or, if someone was planning your funeral (heaven forbid), what two songs would you hope they picked to fully represent all of the things you were and all of the things you strived to be? Please include a brief explanation as to why these are the two songs you would choose.
Please share links to a playlist and/or videos of these songs so I can hear them. Chances are, I don’t know the music you do.

“Laura, it’s time to do some research. It’s essential to prepare
the steering committee so they can design the process and content of
our leadership development program. I know that working on the career
path project is important, but we are going to get a lot of help on this
project from across the organization. It won’t be as much work as it
sounds,” promised Wanda.
“I’m really excited about this!” Laura said. “Thanks for making
me a part of this. I’m here to learn, and this sounds like a wonderful
opportunity.”
“Honestly, Laura,” said Wanda, “having you on both sides of the
development cycle will tell us about what works and what can be improved
about the program. Often program participants are so grateful to be
selected they don’t offer feedback.”
“So, I’m the canary in the coal mine,” Laura laughed. “I don’t
mind! Where do we begin to work on leadership development research?”
Leaders won’t spring up in the workplace unless management plans,
resources, and supports a robust set of policies that leads to the
development of employees who have the desire and potential to serve in
leadership roles. With those very normal conditions, it then requires
the CEO and board in the private sector to make leadership development a
priority. If it is a priority, leadership development programs and
often robust operational succession plans will thrive. As HR and
learning and development professionals, we will always lobby for these
programs. Once we have an endorsement for a program and an executive
champion to guide and protect it, things will start to happen!
Assignment:
There are many leadership theories, and there are courses in other
fields that cover this material in our program. From the perspective of
learning and development, we present many different aspects of learning
in the organization. A common program is one that takes viable
candidates and trains them in leadership. There are many leadership
styles and theories. Here we present one that has a reputation of having
great value and contribution to the workplace. It also places many
demands on the practitioner. The theory is servant leadership. People
often question how a leader can be a servant. The answer is simple. The
leader’s primary focus is on the people and the organization, setting
aside personal agendas, which are not aligned to success for all members
of the organization and its stakeholders.
Briefly research servant leadership and respond to the following:
In your opinion, what strengths does servant leadership offer that can guide an organization?
How do you perceive the level of devotion that this leadership theory and approach call for?
Is this an approach you might take, or are there simply too many sacrifices?

Think concretely about your own sense of freedom- when do you most “feel“ free? Find or create a tiktok that represents your response.
Explain why you chose that particular tiktok an how it relates to the concept of existential freedom.
Choose one quote from one of this week’s podcasts or videos that best sums up the idea of existential freedom. (Be sure to reference the quote, so I know where it came from and who said it.
Now think now about the feeling of weight about making an important decision. What causes that weight?
Does it correspond to Sartre’s vision of what causes this feeling of being condemned to be free? Be sure to reference Sartre’s ideas from “Existentialism is a Humanism” explicitly and directly to support your answer.
